Kam and Josh | A Lyrical Kind of Love

Kamela and Josh's wedding was the first time I'd filmed at White Dove Barn in Beechgrove. It was also the first time I'd had the pleasure of shooting alongside Andrew Morton Photography, which was an absolute blast. I also saw a few familiar vendor faces, including Lindsey with Just a Splash bartending!

I always appreciate a fun and creative guestbook idea that is personalized towards the couple. Because Josh is a musician (check out his band, Radio Romance) they had everyone sign around a vinyl record that was customized with their portrait on it and held the music from their wedding day.

The barn doors at the White Dove Barn are gorgeous and Andrew (photographer) and I knew we wanted to incorporate them into some of the couple's shots. We hung the dress with the barn doors framing it and we also had the wedding party "open" the doors to let Kamela outside for her and Josh's first look.

I say "open" because really there was a team of coordinators on the other side pulling the doors open because they were so freaking heavy!

It is no surprise that I connect with my couples that have fur-babies. Especially when they have another brindle! Kamela and Josh weren't able to have their two dogs present at their wedding but they were both there in spirit as their bar served up "pitties poison" as their signature drink.

One of the benefits of being a musician is having friends that are also amazing musicians. Josh's groomsmen made the wedding day that much more meaningful by playing a few songs during the ceremony and the reception. Kamela even reached out after the wedding and emailed me recordings of the songs to use in their wedding film. I cannot wait to edit it and put those tracks in <3

In typical Tennessee weather fashion, the day turned from beautiful and sunny to a sudden storm that cut their private last dance a little short as they ran outside for their sparkler exit so they wouldn't get rained on.
